Family Self-Sufficiency (FSS)


Self-Sufficiency2The Family Self-Sufficiency (FSS) program is designed to assist families and individuals to become financially independent.  Participation in the program in voluntary and requires a personal commitment by each individual.  In exchange, you will receive case management services and the opportunity to establish an escrow savings account.  The FSS Program is about five (5) years in length and upon successful completion you can walk out with a check in the amount of the escrow savings account balance!  


Who is Eligible?
Anyone currently participating in the Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher (HCV) Program or living in a Public Housing development owned or managed by the Housing Authority of the City of San Buenaventura (HACSB), who has career/employment goals and wishes to achieve financial independence.
